of the Laurel Library
About Us
The Friends of the Laurel
Library was organized in January 1996 to
promote the Laurel Branch Library and the Prince George's County Memorial
Library System, to stimulate and maintain public support for the Laurel
Library and to supplement the Laurel Library's budget for special equipment,
materials and programs.
Since its establishment, our membership dues, booksale
profits, and generous donations have provided the following to the Laurel
Library:
-
Summer children's programs.
-
Other children's programs.
-
Funding for the Library's 90th Anniversary Celebration.
-
The children's room upgrade.
-
Large shelving units for the audio-tape collection.
-
Shelving units for paperback books.
-
Overhead fan for the checkout desk.
-
Complimentary supply station with house magnets and
office supplies at the Reference Desk.
